Monoset Pumps |
| |
What are the probable causes for failure of the pump to deliver water? |
| |
The various possible reasons for failure and the remedial measures thereof are elucidated as follows: |
If the speed is too low, check the voltage supply & frequency. Change cable with correct size if required. |
If air enters into the suction pipe, make air tight joints or if required, replace the pipe. |
If there is no water in the pump set, fill water in the pump chambers / casing. |
If the suction pipe has too many bends, educe the number of bends if possible. |
If the mechanical seal is leaking, refit the mechanical seal or replace it. |
If the suction lift is too high, move the pump installation nearer to water level. |
If the direction of rotation is wrong, correct it. |
| |
What makes the pump discharge less, and what needs to be done to
correct it? |
| |
The probable reasons and the corresponding corrective actions are as listed below: |
If the suction pipe inlet is inadequately submerged in water, move installation nearer to the water level. |
If the suction lift is too high, reduce the height. |
If the suction pipe and strainer is clogged, clean the pipe & strainer. |
If the delivery head is higher than specified, select the suitable pump set. |
If the suction pipe has leakage, make it airtight. |
If the pipe size diameter is smaller than recommended, use the correct diameter. |
