Submersible Pumps |

How do I check the right Electric Power Supply connection?
After lowering the pump, check continuity between wires. Also with the help of meggar check insulation resistance between winding and also between the ground to wire. Connect now leads to Panel. A voltage drop of 5% is likely at the time of starting. It is advisable to install a voltmeter across phases. If voltage found to be less than 160V, it is better not to start the pump. |

What should I do while starting the pump? |
Start the pump by pressing the starter knob. In a newly bored well the pump must be run at first with the gate valve partially opened. The water is then examined for sand content. If there is a noticeable quantity of sand in the water, the pump set should be run for a few days with the gate valve partially opened until the sand content in the water falls to an unnoticeable level. It is important that the pump is not stopped until clear water flows, i.e., it must not be switched off while pumping sandy water. High sand content will cause premature wear of pump parts. If the pump stops delivering water, the yield of the bore does not match with flow of pump. In this case only alternative is to either run the pump with automatic water level guard or by controlling the flow of water by throttling through gate valve at outlet. |
