Can run satisfactorily.
Between 10-25 Mega ohms
Motor insulation has weakened.
Can run satisfactorily but insulation is likely to get worsened.
Between 2-10 Mega ohms
Insulation has damaged. Motor can still run but it is advisable to pull out, examine and rewind during idle period.
Between 1-2 Mega ohms
Insulation bad. Motor is likely to fail if run continuously. Best is to pull out, examine and rewind.
Between 0-1 Mega ohms
Possible damage to cable either while lowering or somebody has tried to apply force for pulling out cable or failure due to lightning or under voltage. Pull out Motor, examine and rewind.
Caution
Do not use 1000 V meggar to note insulation reading. Always use 500 V. DC. Meggar to note insulation resistance.
